After Will is arrested for assaulting a former bully from his orphanage days, Lambeau bails him out on two conditions: that he study mathematics under Lambeau and attend therapy. Will agrees but systematically humiliates a series of therapists. Desperate, Lambeau calls his old college roommate, (Robin Williams), a community college psychology professor who grew up in the same working-class South Boston neighborhood as Will.

El Indomable Will Hunting —released in English as Good Will Hunting —is a landmark 1997 drama directed by Gus Van Sant and written by stars Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. The film won critical acclaim, including an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, and launched its young writers into Hollywood stardom. Plot Summary The story centers on Will Hunting (Matt Damon), a 20-year-old janitor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Despite lacking any formal education, Will possesses a near-superhuman aptitude for advanced mathematics, history, law, and literature. When Professor Gerald Lambeau (Stellan Skarsgård) posts an impossible Fourier analysis problem on a hallway chalkboard, Will anonymously solves it overnight.

Meanwhile, Will falls in love with (Minnie Driver), a wealthy Harvard medical student. His fear of abandonment and deep-seated shame cause him to sabotage the relationship, pushing her away before she can reject him.

Unlike previous therapists, Sean challenges Will directly. He refuses to be intimidated by Will’s intellect, instead confronting his emotional walls. Through raw, honest sessions—including the famous park bench scene (“It’s not your fault”)—Sean helps Will confront a lifetime of physical and emotional abuse suffered in foster care.
