Or, more likely, you just got a new Windows laptop, plugged in your trusty TE244, and heard the dreaded USB chime followed by the even more dreaded pop-up: “Windows could not find a driver for this device.”
Windows sees the TE244 as a generic "USB Printing Support" device. If you force Windows to search for a driver, it will either fail or install a Generic/Text Only driver. If you use that, your labels will look like hieroglyphics, and the printer will spit out 15 blank pages before stopping.
If you are reading this, chances are you are currently standing next a warehouse shelf, holding a label that came out blank, staring at a blinking red light on your TSC TE244.
If you value your sanity (and your roll of thermal labels), skip the TSC website, ignore the Windows auto-search, and go straight to the Seagull driver. Your warehouse team will thank you.
